FAQ-1311 How to configure Avaya IP Office for SMDR

COMM ONE / AVAYA IP OFFICE INTEGRATION

Configuring the Avaya IP Office to send SMDR over an IP connection is fairly simple as long as you have access to log into your Avaya IP Office with administrator rights.  If you do not have administrator rights you may need help from your Avaya Tech.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN - STATIC IP ADDRESS REQUIRED BY AVAYA

Before you can program the IP Office for SMDR, you need to make sure that the PC, Server, or Virtual PC that you are loading the Comm One Call Accounting Software has a Static or Reserved DHCP IP Address.  You will be entering in that address into the IP Office so that the phone system knows where to send the call records.

CONFIGURE IP OFFICE

There are basically four (4) setting changes you need to make in your Avaya IP Office in order to set up SMDR over an IP Connection.

  1. Start the IP Office Manager and go to the SYSTEM Menu

  2. On the right side of the SYSTEM menu select SMDR

  3. OUTPUT: Set to SMDR Only

  4. IP ADDRESS: Set to the Static IP Address of the PC that will capture the call records as a SERVER.

  5. TCP PORT: Use 1150 for the first site, 1151 for the 2nd site, 1152 for the 3rd site, etc.

  6. FOR MULTIPLE SITES:  If you have multiple sites, each must have a unique port number so you should use 1150, 1151, 1152, 1153 etc.

  7. RECORDS TO BUFFER: Set it to the highest setting or 3000

  8. Then Save and MERGE your settings.

  9. Usually, you do not need to reboot the IP Office for these settings to take effect.  If you know your settings are correct but you are not seeing call records, then you can try rebooting your phone system.  Make sure all of your phone system setting changes are saved and backed-up before rebooting.
