IP CAPTURE ERROR

COMM ONE FAQ-1116
Error 158 Running IP Capture Utility

Older versions of windows would allow you to have a program run as a service while at the same time have that application interact with the desktop so that you could monitor it.  Newer versions of windows including Windows 8 and Windows 10 have no longer have that feature.  In addition to that, there are a few other difference in the newer versions of windows that require updates to our IP Call Capture Utility.

If you are running an older version of our capture utility which was installed prior to 2015 and you have a newer Windows operating system you may encounter an error 158 while starting the IP Capture Utility.  This error will prevent the Call Capture from starting and the utility will lock up.

HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ERROR

Resolving this error is easy.  Simply download a new aipdlog4.exe file from the link shown below and run it on your machine.  A new version of the call capture utility will run and overwrite your existing version.  Your capture settings (IP Address and Port #) will not be overwritten and your log file save path will be maintained.

After installing the program you should reboot your system although that is not always required.  You can then restart the capture utility and the error should be gone

If the error is not resolved and you have a Support Agreement with us, please open a Support Ticket and we will be happy to assist you.
