COMM ONE FAQ-1456
Windows Automatic Updates
Windows automatic updates can cause problems with your Call Accounting depending on which version of Windows and Call Capture you are using.
ADVANCED IP CALL CAPTURE:
If you are capturing your call records over IP then windows automatic updates won't be a problem for you. If Windows needs to reboot your computer after the updates the IP Call Capture utility will automatically restart once the computer boots because it runs as a service in the background.
ADVANCED SERIAL CALL CAPTURE:
If you capture your call records over a serial connection and you are using the Advanced Serial Capture Utility then you also do not need to worry about Windows updates rebooting your PC. If Windows needs to reboot your PC after an update then the Serial Capture will automatically restart once the computer boots because it runs as a service in the background.
COMM ONE CALL CAPTURE UTILITY
If you are using the Comm One Call Capture Utility then you should disable Windows Automatic Updates and manage the updates manually. If Windows reboots your computer using the Comm One Capture Utility and there is nobody there to log back into windows, then your capture utility will not restart and you could lose call records. Make sure you run windows updates on a regular basis if you disable automatic updates so that your computer stays up to date.
