FAQ-1451 Build Departments from Stations
HOW TO BUILD DEPARTMENTS FROM STATIONS
From the ToolBox Utility type these commands:
CLOSE DATABASES
SELECT DISTINCT department FROM LINE1.DBF INTO TABLE DEPT_LIST.DBF
CLOSE DATABASES
USE DEPT_LINE.DBF
MODIFY STRUCTURE
Change the name of the department field to "NAME"
Press CTRL-W to Save
Back at the toolbox utility.
CLOSE DATABASES
USE DEPT
ZAP
APPEND FROM DEPT_LIST.DBF
BROWSE NORMAL
Check that the department names are showing in the name field. Start Call Accounting and check that the department codes are showing in the department pull-down windows.
