WHY I DELIVER BABY DIAPERS TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS
A few months ago I heard a story on my local NPR Station KUER 90.1 FM talking about the Utah Diaper Bank. I've heard about food banks, but I had never heard about a diaper bank.
I was shocked to discover that government assistance cannot be used to purchase baby diapers. I remembered being a new father and how shocked I was at how many diapers a newborn baby could go through in a day. So I decided to get involved. Each month I drive to our local Diaper Bank and pick up diapers that have been collected for 3 food pantries in the next county. Our local diaper bank collected and distributed over 350,000 diapers last year. It's a pleasure to be associated with an organization that helps struggling families and small children.
In addition to the National Diaper Bank Network, there are also diaper banks in every state and in most major communities. We have enjoyed our participation in this program and encourage you to join us and get involved with this important effort.
